Netflix has reportedly edited out a scene involving Jonathan Byers and Nancy Wheeler from season one of Stranger Things.
The moment from the show’s second-ever episode sees Jonathan looking for clues out in the woods regarding his brother Will’s disappearance.
However, in a rather creepy moment, he apparently takes a photo of Nancy undressing in Steve Harrington’s bedroom.
The new edit appears to show Jonathan seeing Nancy, but we don’t see him take the photograph, instead lowering the camera before taking a picture of Barb (via TikTok).
Yet in the next episode, we see that the photo of Nancy still exists, suggesting that the scene has been edited.
The change is interesting given that Jonathan and Nancy do end up together–though their relationship seemed to be showing cracks in season 4.
Meanwhile, fellow star David Harbour has been reflecting on the show’s success, admitting that he thought the series would be a “disaster”.
“I remember when we were shooting the first season,” he told The One Show. “We were down in Atlanta, Netflix had given us a budget of about $20 and we thought…
“Halfway through, I remember my hair person coming up to me, about episode 4 we were shooting, and she said, ‘I don’t think it’s going to work’.
“So by the time we wrapped, I thought we wouldn’t get a second season, we’d be the first Netflix show ever to never get a second season. We thought no one would watch it, it was going to be a disaster.”
