Disney Confirms ‘Indiana Jones 5’ Will Be the End of Film Series

Indiana Jones 5 has been a long time in the making, but when Indy eventually returns for his latest adventure, it’s set to be the last.

Disney gave fans a long-awaited update on the next instalment of the Indiana Jones franchise as part of Disney Investor Day on December 10. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy shared the news during a presentation, confirming that the next Indiana Jones title will be the “fifth and final” in the series.

It’s not all bad news, though, as Kennedy also confirmed that Star Wars legend Harrison Ford will be reprising his role as the archaeology professor. Bullwhip and leather jacket included, we hope.

In other Indy news, movie producer Frank Marshall recently revealed that while the wheels are in motion for the latest release, there isn’t actually a finished script yet.

“We are working on the script,” he explained, before going on to sing the praises of director James Mangold. “There will only be one Indiana Jones and that’s Harrison Ford.

“What I’m excited about with Jim is a great story… It’s all about characters and telling a good story. So I’m excited to see what he comes up with.

“I haven’t seen [the script] yet so I don’t know what to tell you.”
